The area
Neighbourhood: San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.

This chocolate shop blew my socks off. Everything that I tried was amazing. But what you must not miss is the chocolate sorbet. It is the richest most delicious sorbet I've ever tasted. And I'm experienced in sorbets all over the world as I'm a bit lactose intolerant so can't have ice cream. How cruel!!! But the sorbet here is so rich you think you are eating ice cream. Try it. You will go back everyday as I did.

Quality chocolate

This is a great chocolate shop- I found it after reading reviews here and decided to try it. I bought some chocolate with balsamic vinegar and the unusual mixture worked very well. I liked their adventurous flavours and will be back for more. Service is a bit slow but that means that the staff care for each and every client, so you are not treated as 'just another tourist', as is often the case in this commercial town. The chocolate is certainly very good quality, and the shop is inmaculately clean and welcoming. Worth stopping in.

Wonderful chocolate shop

VizioVirtu Chocolate shop was just around the corner from our hotel and was incredible! The staff was extremely friendly and patient with tourists. The chocolate was really top quality. Some of the combinations were surprisingly very good including the dark chocolate passion fruit.

So Very Delicious

Since arriving in Southern Italy a month ago, I've been on chocolate withdrawals. Not having been aware of this shop before visiting Venice, I had no idea of their reputation. As we were walking along we happened to notice the shop. My chocolate cravings told me we had to stop in -- just to look -- just in case. Oh my! What a delight! There was one customer already in the store. This customer was taking what seemed to me to be forever and my chocolate craving was working overtime. The aroma, the variety. It was difficult to wait my turn. The shopkeeper was far more patient and understanding than I was. But I did behave. It's tempting to say the chocolates were worth the wait but the truth is, they were so good I don't want to wait. In fact, I can't wait for my next weekend in Venice so I can get more.

Amazing!!

This little chocolate shop isn't that easy to find, but that's what made it better. (As we were least expecting it) My boyfriend and me were walking around in Venice and came across this shop. As soon as you walk in, you can smell the heavley smell of chocolate!! I must admit that when we came across the shop on the first day, we had a look round and thought we would go back the following day. We did have a job to find it! But overall, it's a lovely little shop which sells some really nice chocolate and chocolate gifts I would advise taking a visit!

Wonderful
An authentic chocolate shop with all the produce made in store. The hot chocolate was fabulous and the woman who owns the shop very friendly and helpful.

A must visit
Quite out of the way compared to a lot of the restaurants and places of interest but well worth it, good value and fantastic chocolate. Very friendly staff. Also the best (and cheapest) hot chocolate I've had in Venice, melted chocolate rather than the typical chocolate mousse style common here.

Great chocolate for those who wait
Dec 2014 • Friends
You arrive. Someone will be behind the counter, If not, they'll be at the shelves calmly, carefully, slowly arranging things. She'll move toward you. Nope, not your turn. She's just getting more items to place on the shelf. At no point in the process will anyone will greet you, at least not before they've realized that if they don't sell chocolate, their life will be meaningless. A chocolatier who doesn't sell chocolate?

Relax. It's a test. How much, really, do you want that chocolate? Don't get mad (you'll lose points). Just wait. Read the signs. Conjugate Latin verbs. You've got time.

Inspect the candies. There's a rather graphic "kama sutra" bar for €18.50! Enjoy the glittering pieces of chocolate in the case, each with its own poetic but in the end non-descriptive name.

Someone will serve you. Have faith. You will have your chocolate, and I'd advise getting the small cup unless you want a serious chocolate overdose. There are two kinds - I had the unsweetened version, 70% chocolate if I remember correctly. No cream. Either way, you will drink either the equivalent of a large candy bar or an entire box of chocolates depending on the size of your drink.

Enjoy! You waited long enough for your moment in the fudge!

Amazing chocolate caldo
Like nothing I've ever seen in the U.S, the chocolate "caldo" is to be eaten with a spoon, not sipped. This shop adds fresh cream and little chocolate balls with cereal inside; which gives it a great little crunch. A feast for the senses all in one cup. Service was non English speaking but an attempt was made. Just my opinion but I don't think every shop exists just to cater to the tourist dollar, pound, whatever, realize that they may not always be as happy to see you as you are; them, accept it for what it is and move on..

Delicious

I found this place when I first visited Venice in 2012. There was no way I was going to be in Venice again and not revisit. The chocolate treats sold here are of high quality and absolutely delicious. You can purchase from a large selection of hand crafted single chocolates or pick up great gifts already packaged and ready to go. Forget the tacky souvenirs - take home chocolate!
