This was a beautiful rendition of vivaldi’s four seasons. The maestro played with such passion that it was hard to take your eyes off of him. I was there at 8pm to get a good seat but there were still plenty of good seats closer...More
Loved this performance of the Four Seasons in the Chiesa della Pieta, full of vitality and contrasts. The virtuoso was Antonio Aiello. It was preceded by 3 pieces by Sarasate whom we'd never heard of before. A lovely evening.
Amazing concerto in historical environment. It is lifetime experience listen Vivaldi’s music in his own “home church” - same place what for it was created. We listened “The Four seasons” and it was incredible beautiful.
A truly amazing concert in a beautiful church, it touches all your senses.
The musicians are extremely talented and it was an absolutely amazing concert. We saw Vivaldi’s Four Seasons as they have different programmes (being in Vivaldi’s church, we couldn’t choose anything else!) and...More
We attended a concert led by Antonio aiello (maestro di concerto al violino) courtesy virtuosi Italiani. They played Mozart and Vivaldi. This church is where Vivaldi was the choir master and wrote music. The concert was excellent and the acoustics of the church superb. If...More
My husband had booked this concert for us - Rossini to commence followed by Vivaldi's Four Seasons in its entirety. Alberto Martini is a very accomplished musician. It was a lovely concert in beautiful surroundings. It was the perfect end to our day.
I booked this concert to round off the evening of my wife’s birthday, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. The concert began with a piece by Rossini, then the complete Vivaldi Four Seasons. It was very well played and the soloist put his all into...More

Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a
strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
