This busy little square can be found a short walk from the Accademia, and with the narrow Calle S Barnaba alongside is another of Venice's charming areas, popular with visitors and locals. Worth including in any walk around the southern part of the city. Lots...More

This is a gorgeous area to stay and I remember seeing parts of this in one of those Indiana Jones movies. It's simple. It's reasonable quiet. It's easy to find. The place is named after the church which has the same name. Well worth spending...More

This is exactly the church with a huge library where Indy looked for the knight's shield inscription. The church itself looks very similar to the picture we know from the movie, I think I even found the canal manhole out of which Indy was escaping...More

I wanted to visit this place because of its appearance in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - the church is used as a library. The small bars are nice and affordable, and nearby lies the famous fruit ship. The lovely church of San Barnaba...More

I stopped by Campo San Barnaba to get a picture since I am an Indiana Jones fan. Its a nice small square but had little going on. It may have been the time of day since it was very hot, however it was too quiet...More

This Campo is located within Sestiere Dorsoduro and fronts the Rio de San Barnaba and church for which it was named. This is one of the innumerable campo’s in Venice. Bars, restaurants, gelatorias, and the aforementioned Chiesa di San Barnaba surround it.

This is a small campo; but, it is a lively one. The Campo has been featured in many movies including Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, where the deconsecrated Church of San Barnaba played a library with a secret route to imaginary catacombs. There is...More

After arriving at our hotel early evening we went out looking for what we thought of as typical Venice for dinner. We came upon this beautiful square and loved it. Nice reasonably priced bars off the beaten track so quieter and more laid back. Nice...More

We passed through Campo San Barnaba on our daily wondering in Venice. This is a lovely Piazza with cafes and several shops.

A charming square with restaurants, bars, shops, and a great ice-cream place. A lovely spot to sit and watch the world go by, often entertained by buskers. In good weather, a pre-dinner drink in one of the bars is a delight.

Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the
crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent
Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh,
Guidecca, points away from the others – part of
Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal.
Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and
factories to a quiet residential area with a
sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic
