Small Group Guided Tour of Padua from Venice

This tour will take us, together with a local guide, to discover the real Padua. We will take a walk around the city to discover the most important sights and monuments. We will see Prato della Valle, the Basilica of Sant’Antonio or "Il Santo", the destination of millions of pilgrims every year and a romantic mix of styles and cultures from all corners of the world. Along the cobbled streets and medieval arcades we will reach the beating heart of the historic center. We will see the Old Ghetto of the city which with its narrow streets and clubs has become a meeting place for young students. Then the Squares, Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza della Frutta with views of the Palazzo della Ragione and often enlivened by the market stalls and the swarming of people under the “Salone”. We will reach Piazza dei Signori, a meeting place for Paduans at an aperitif and once the home of the Lords of the city. Palazzo Bo seat of the University of Padua. We will conclude the tour with a "Padovana" tasting

I have visited the Sanctuary of San Leopoldo Mandic for two times.San Leopoldo comes from Croatian nation and his miracles and good deeds are very famous. The story of sanctuary is very impressive. There is a kind of museum of Saint Leopold inside.I liked very much a Saint Leopold's carriage that survived the bombing and the body of San Leopoldo lies there where You can see him and take a prayers.I can recommend for visitors to attend the Holly Mass in the church in Italian. If I will come back in Padua surely will visit it again.

We did not know much about this lovely saint - small of stature but he must have been a wonderful person to meet. His incorrupt body is present within the sanctuary.

Simple church with opportunity to see life of Blessed Leopold Mandic. The most important place their is his tomb and his room where he took confessions. Spiritual and moving.

Off beaten path yet central. Not overwhelmed by tourists. Short walk from prato della valle and several buses and tram stop in front. Cafe, newstand, Vinotecca and a PAM supermarket accross the street.
