Arguably, the most impressive (and quite unique) feature of this church is the vaulted wooden ceiling.

The church is very plain but the ceiling is a medieval marvel if wooden beams and timbers forming squares supporting the roof. Not gilded or carved like others but it's still there. here is also where you collect the hop on and off bus as...More

From the exterior this large church does not seem very promising, especially as it is just a stones throw away from the amazing Scrovegni Chapel. Once inside you enter a large ,light, airy place that sustained tremendous damage during WWII. If you are a fan...More

In the neighbourhood of the Scrovegni Chapel you will find this church.A nice church, but nothing special. If you are in the neighbourhood is it worth a visit.

This church was almost entirely destroyed by Allied bombs in 1944-45, but has been beautifully restored and is well worth a visit. Unfortunately, the magnificent frescoes by Mantegna were almost entirely demolished, although reconstructions on the website and at the church itself help mitigate the...More

So many tourists rightly go to the Scrovengi chapel but then they skip the very large church next door. This was built in the 1100s under the patronage of a very wealthy family. Unfortunately it suffered terrible damage from Allied bombing in WWII, but the...More

Out of all the churches that are mentioned as interesting touristic spots, this one is possibly the least interesting. The facade is very clean, and clearly isn't maintained properly. Unfortunately, it was closed when I got there, so I can speak to the inside.
