It was very surprising to find a very tasteful interior combining its obvious long history with very fresh and modern additons. The altar featung Saints Anthony and Gregory was particularly alluring. There was also a service being undertaken at the time of our visit in...More

Approaching this church from the Piazza del Duomo, I was impressed by the severe brick facade of the building. Inside I was surprised by the light, spacious, almost non-Catholic simplicity of the church. It is a pleasure to sit down here and look around and...More

This basilica was a surprise - mostly, the modern, yet lovely, altar rail was unexpected in the traditional setting - it is certainly memorable. The mostly-white interior was restful and the chapels were a nice contrast with the main altar. This basilica was quiet and...More

It doesn't look spectacular on the outside, and on the inside it's unusually plain for an Italian cathedral. However, the real attraction is the Baptistry (Battistero del Duomo) next door.

Don´t be fooled by its austere façade, this interesting temple deserves a visit. It´s not the church I liked most in my trip to Italy, but it´s outstanding anyway. I would point out that it´s quite original as there are some contemporary sculptures in the...More

Compared to the other, magnificent churches in Padova, the Duomo is much more modern and average. Free to enter. I didn't go into the next-door Battistero as I think it was closed (Bank Holiday): it costs €3 to enter and is apparently covered in beautiful...More
