Being smaller than the Maggiore & Como means this Lake is more intimate than its more famous cousins Beautiful surrounds & medieval village of Orta San Giulio is great to wander around although does get it share of tourists

Most US tourists go to Como. Don't be like all the other lemmings...try Orta. Or don't and leave the beauty to the most fortunate traveler.

Swam 4,5 km in this beautiful lake - the water is warm and clean and the scenery is just beautiful.....

This is a beautiful lake to visit for me at the time of my visit was not over run with tourists a lovely clean village with a beautiful view over the lake.

We drove, very easy. Lots of car parking, but top tip make sure you have plenty of change. Its 2 Euro an hour, but worth it. It has machines that surpose to take cards and notes but they don't work A very kind man saw...More

There is a beach on the way towards Garda. I just passed by so I know not how it is. Probably there are more small beaches. The lake is quite long.

Lake Ledro near Garda is very clean great for swimming, life guards etc
