One of the oldest churches in the city. It was built in the 11th century. You must be lucky to get in, three times we were there was closed. It is in the very busy part of Milan.

The church of San Babila is so named iin honor of the relics of St. Babylas of Antioch, brought to Milan Marolus, the bishop of Milan in the 400s AD. Erected on the site of a Roman temple to the Sun, the earliest Christian structure...More

This church is in the busy central area of Milan near the quadriltero della moda. The church dates from the 11 th century but now it is bit of a mixture of architectural styles due to various renovations carried out over the years. The two...More

Peaceful and very nice church for relaxing and take a breath between running out for shopping. Nice paintings and everything needed for visiting. Special background why this building is there.

Relatively unadorned, but authentic church. The place is quiet, genuine - no gift shop, no ticket to get in, no armed guards, just a lovely old church. Lovely frescoes, but restrained stained glass windows. Nice, certainly, but no wow factor.

The facade of the church is mostly made of brick. Above the entrance there is a figure of Christ. The main chapel is quite simple and does not call attention.

With all the other buildings in Milan this is not the best one but there is still something about it as everyone is so different and this small church fits in well in San Babila

Exactly placed in the main Piazza San Babila, a few hundred meters from the cathedral square. A small Romanesque church, I never had the pleasure to visit it entirely but hovering outside I could see the beauty of the facade. Unusual to see a church...More

Discrete, small but well placed... this church will attract your attention! Don't know how old it is, but seems well managed & maintained proper & in good shape.

This church is totally underwhelming inside, but its red brick exteriors make it somehow more interesting. If you're in the area, a 1-2 minute visit is all you need.
