Only much much smaller and Sirmione has a castle with a river under the bridge, stunning castle well worth seeing.
Especially if you are lucky as we where to be there on a full moon .
We stayes an hour away from Sirmione, but found on trip advisor that Sirmione had a Beach, so we went there two days in a row. Its the most lovely little city, if you even can call it a city, its so small and Nice.....More
We were here for just an afternoon. This seems to be a very enchanting place to visit with the beautiful lake and the fantastic ruins. Sirmione sits a the tip of a very narrow peninsula and one can stand in the middle of the land...More
First impression upon seeing the fortified entrance was 'Medieval Castle', once inside it's another shopping mall. Packed with tourists squeezing into the souvenir shops, cafes and restaurants. Make your way straight through to find the 'road train' and use it to visit the Roman ruins....More

Lovely place to visit whilst visiting lake Garda. Very busy even in low season, but that shouldn't put you off the visit. car parking nearby and a short stroll to the castle, which in itself worth a look. We spent a good while in Sirmione...More
A very nice place near Lago di Garda. Nice view, nice lake, good restaurants and bars, but highly too crowded. We were there in low season, but can imagine all the crowds when 'ferragosto' (italian holidays in August) starts. So, try to avoid that season.
