The exterior is better than interior. The museum next door is not worth visiting. The only interesting object was a Cretan Icon of the Mother of God.

Between the Palazzo della Ragione and the Basilica is the Cattedrale stands the main religious building of Bergamo that took centuries to be built. Behind a white marble facade, there is a beautiful church (with less "arrogance" than the next door basilica) and a must...More

A lovely cathedral with so much intricate work. Definitely worth a visit when in Bergamo. There are many cathedrals one could see, but I'd put this up there

This is yet another very nice cathedral. We had just a few minutes, because we got there late. I am getting a little tougher on my rating of churches. I have seen so many of them and now one has to be truly top tier...More

Bergamo is closely related to Saint John XXIII, pope. He entered the Seminary of Bergamo in 1892, where he remained for studies in classics and theology until his second year of theology. He must pray in this Cathedral as a student in the seminary. When...More

This is the city’s main cathedral, dedicated to the city’s patron, Saint Alexander the Martyr and built on the foundations of an existing primitive structure, presumably founded in the 6th century and originally dedicated to St. Vincent. Is it by chance that my son Alex...More

One of the most interesting places to visit in Bergamo. It's very quiet and calm inside but the paintings are indescribable in words - just amazing.

Bergamo catheral is not so famous comparing to Milano's or Florence's one. But still it's interior is charming.

An out-of-plan visit that resulted in a time of history and learning was a short time but it was able to learn the meaning of the monument

It’s ok. I prefer the basilica if you have to choose which to visit - my partner made up a rule. We can only visit one religious location in each town. We are both atheists lol

You can buy a cover-all ticket in the building opposite the Duomo. Worth the cost. The museum is a bit underwhelming to be honest, just a series of murals.
