The church, which dates from 1347, stands on a rock at the foot of the San Giacomo hill. It was built by fishermen to honor Saint Elmo, the patron saint of seamen.

Apparently this Oratory is only open for a limited number of days during the year and we were so lucky to be able to visit. Wonderful maritime artefacts and art work. Well worth trying to visit.

This small 18th century church has models of trading and fighting ships and fishing vessels given given to it by sailors as votive gifts for their safety.

We stumbled upon this church just behind our hotel. Unusual combination of crucifixes and boats. There was a rehearsal happening so beautiful sounds of horns and singing
