A great place to head to the beach without the touristy expense. A short walk or bus from portofino. Well worth stopping in if heading to cinque Terre.

"Italian Riviera". Lovely romantic place in Liguria close to Portofino but not so expensive. Good beaches, restaurants, friendly citizens.

I liked Santa Margherita. If you plan to go to Portofino, you can go by boat, walk from Portofino and have lunch or dinner in Santa Margherita (the Dolphin pizzeria is good).
