Well worth a visit, if you are walking there then there is an easy way to get up to the castle, from the Main Street there is a free glass door vertical lift for good views, once at the top turn left as there is...More

There are sign posts to this place from the main shopping street. Being a Sunday when we visited & most places being closed in italy, we followed the signs. There is a footpath & also a free lift up to halfway. We took the lift,...More

There are very good views over La Spezia from the battlements of this old fortress. There are stairs to reach Castello di San Georgio or you can take a elevator and then the funicular railway. Once there you can pay to see the Castello but...More

From town, we took the lift and funicular to the castle, with the aim to get a nice view over town. However, decided to go into the museum also (in our case only 50 cents more or so), which was a great surprise! Of course...More

There is quite a hike to the top to see this very old castle but once there, the view is quite spectacular. I advise taking the funicular to the top instead.

Staying in LaSpezia for 2 weeks gave us the opportunity to look around at leisure and discover some new experiences. This castle overlooking the harbour is worth the trip either up the steps (lots!) or using the lift and the funicular lift to the steps...More

Lovely views to be had over the lovely cityscape, up to the hills and the sea. Small but interesting, there is an option to just enjoy the castle walls if you're not interested in looking around the museum section. There's also a nice walk down...More

We’ve been to a ton of museums and castles in Europe, but we enjoyed this visit very much. We were here on a Sunday and had very little company as we toured at leisure. I could have wished that the descriptions of the many fascinating...More

The castle itself is also nice, but the main thing here is the Roman history. In case you are interested in the subject, I would recommend to visit. The visit according to my memory was 5 EUR, so the price should not be an obstacle...More

There are 48 people who call this castle home. The take care of the grounds, as well as surrounding fields and orchards. It is well worth the time to explore it.
