This is a nice place to sit after walking along the seafront and enjoy a picnic, a cold drink or a piece of fruit as I did (a HUGE sweet peach) from the local market nearby selling local produce which was interesting in it's own...More

Garibaldi was a mercenary fighting for the british interests. All this stories about him were made up. With the historical revision in course I am surprised by the fact that the statue is still there.

The person riding that horse statue is Mr. Giuseppe.....who is a very prominent figure in Italian history. It is a fitting statue for a man who has fought so hard for his country. It is definitely the main statue in the town of La Spezia,...More

Giuseppe was a pretty prominent person in Italian history as a soldier, politician and fierce nationalist. So he has parks, squares, streets etc. named after him all over Italy since his demise in 1882. Not overly loved by all during his lifetime but Joseph Marie...More

Took a walk from our cruise ship through the town and came across this statue in a very nice park not far from the seashore. Lovely gardens and a nice place to sit and relax.

The monument to Garibaldi on horseback show the father of Italian unification. Is is situated at the end of a shady park and is right by the waterfront promenade. Good for history buffs.

Monument on the port promenade in La Spezia. If you are in town merely follow Via Prione towards the sea and you can't miss it. The monument sits in a tropical garden by the port and is definitely worth a visit.
