This is worth a trip up the elevator to see a nice view if the city. The approach is very pretty also. You would need to purchase a ticket at the machine the hallway as you approach the elevator.

This is a must do activity in Genoa and easy to find. The view 360 degree view was really magnificent. Walked the shops and cafes. The locals were very obliging. Obviously pick your day to get the view and earlier in the day is better.

If you want a photo of the city from above, this is the easiest place to come. A few restaurants and cafes nearby. Easy access by public elevator.

When in Genoa, go to the Spianata di Castelletto where you can have the best view in town. You can take the lift (ascensore) if you are in the lower part of town. It is definitely worthwhile.

Took the lift, (E1.80 each return), up to see the view; it was a very overcast day, so nothing amazing to see. The nice surprise was to find a Sicilian cafe on the far side of the square at the top.

From Spianata Casteletto, you can have a nice panoramic view of the city. I like going there in the evening as you see the port and city center in lights.

I went during the golden hour, that period of time before the sun sets and everything is golden and the sky is colorful. Great view and is very picturesque. I did not take the elevator as the walk was moderate enough.
