Most tourists don’t venture far from Manarola’s scenic harbour. However if you some extra time to explore, then this tiny piazza has a cluster of interesting historic sights.
It is a short but steep walk uphill through the main town (about 10 minutes from the waterfront). It forms part of a nice looped walk mostly along Via Antonio Discovolo.
What you find here, is the Gothic Church of St Lorenzo (1338), the 14th century bell tower and a small 15th century oratory.
This is also the starting point for the Sentiero Panoramica - Marco Crovara (which is often referred to as The Vineyards Walk in guidebooks). This is a beautiful walking trail along the hillside terraces of Manarola, where you walk beside centuries old vineyards. The start of the trail is not immediately obvious but look out for the wooden railings next to the St Lorenzo Church.

A pretty square on the heights of the village which houses a church and its bell tower and above all from which you can admire beautiful views.
