We were limited on time. We had only five hrs to explore Cinque Terre. So, we had to decide where to start and finish!
We chose Manarola for our 1st stop at 1030 which was a good decision as it wasn’t too hot!
Beautiful little village, brightly painted house, small street, tiny harbour with a relaxing and stunning sea views.
If you fancy to take a good picture with a deep blue sky on the view point then you may have to come back in the late afternoon!
Took us 15-20 mins slow walk to the top of sea view point.
We spend 1.30 hrs in Manarola then heading off to next destination!

By the time I made it to the port, I was kind of tired of walking. So when I seen the ramp up, to get the view, I was almost going to turn back. I'm glad I didn't. The view from this point, is wonderful! Totally worth it.

There are loads of scenic viewpoints in Manarola but the best view is from the elevated viewpoint at Punta Bonfiglio. The small, enclosed harbour is directly below you and, on the other side of the harbour, the pastel coloured tower-houses spill down the hillside to the water. From here, Manarola looks like a village in miniature.
It is one of those picture postcard scenes and is the most panoramic point from which to take photos.
It is only a short walk to get here and the climb is absolutely worth it. The path starts to the right of the harbour and leads up to a series of terraces. If you have kids with you, there's a small playground on a terraced area and above that is Nessun Dorma. We didn't stop there this time but in the past we've sat outside here with drinks, relaxing and taking in the view.

Was on a shore excursion and this was the 1st village visited in Cinque Terre.
We walked down a road to get to the this village and also later to the boat dock for a ferry ride to the next village. Manarola is not the biggest village, but it has all of the charm and personality as the other villages. I consider this village as a taste of what you will seen in the other villages.

Italy's scenery is being ruined by the rich. Hardly a mountain without some idiot building a house on the top or midway. Makes a mess of scenic views, makes a total mess if a whole mountain. Need to be pulled down and restored to natural beautiful Italy

The view is just something incredible. You need to go to understand how beautiful it actually is or you won’t understand.

A truly beautiful place to visit in Cinque Terre.
But...if you have to use a bathroom go before a visit. No puplic toilets in town!
I was terribly disappointed at the lack of kindness of the Italians. I was willing to pay for a coffee, but if there is no free table available, you will not go to the bathroom! I also asked at a hotel, the answer was always no and I was willi g to pay! I am not a young woman and it was terribly hot that day, looking at my face you could tell I was not well, but the answer was still NO. I also offered to have a drink standing, no difference. And...I do speak Italian!
This was the only bad experience on my trip!

The best view of Manarola's stunning colourful houses is from this viewpoint, especially on a clear day. It may be one of the best views in all of Cinque Terre and is often crowded along the path.
