Visited during the Trieste Loves Jazz festival. The climb up the hill wasn't bad and roads are lined with great trees. The fort is very impressive and well preserved. Many things to see and there is even a cinema. The views over the city are...More

The castello is full of history so take some time to go through it. The views of Trieste from the battlements are amazing. We went by the staircase approach but there is a bus that will spare your legs.

The walk up is rather steep but if you take your time well worth it. The castle area includes wonderful Roman Ruins and stone walls to explore.

It is worth visiting the Castle for the splendid views that can be gleamed from the walls. There are great views in all directions - across the city and out to sea.

But because of massive traffic because of May 1 Parade, we couldn't get there. So we went here instead, it's OK and the views are alright ...the cathedral was the best part. Long walk down.

From the gatehouse entrance onwards, you enter another world; the huge courtyard and walls provide panoramic views over the city and beyond, the interior houses a small but attractively presented collection of weapons, a chapel and a ceremonial hall plus a very friendly cafe and...More
