Our group of three met with Davide in the end of December. Although our tour took place on a Sunday in the dead of the season, Davide guided on a splendid trip of how prosciutto and culatello are made. His knowledge and passion about food was incredible. We have not only learned so much, but most importantly we tasted all the good stuff that we encountered. And more. Davide had some good tips about sightseeing and dinner afterwards, that we happily embraced.

We booked a private tour with David. Aside from the cheese farm, he was the best part of the tour! David was knowledgable and shared many experiences he's had around the region. He spoke well and was very patient taking us to 4 different places. You can feel his passion with how he explained each region and stops we made along the way. If you're thinking of booking with this company, make sure to look for him.
Now the tours, the cheese farm was the best part. We were able to witness how they made Parmigiano Reggiano. The farm doesn't wait for you so make sure you arrive on time. We tasted the best ricotta here. Still warm drizzled with some balsamic vinegar.
Went to balsamic vinegar tour and that was also nice. I didn't realize the difference in taste between the different ages of vinegar. Ended up buying the gold 45 yr old bottle.
Culatello was a nice stop since we've only had prosciutto in the US. Stopped here for lunch. You can skip the Prosciutto tour. It's far and not too much to see except for hanging meats in a very old desolate building. I expected a little more from this tour. It was disappointing.
All in all it was a great experience and we learned a lot from David. Highly recommended.

Davide is absolutely wonderful. We asked for a very custom, and very busy tour, and we were not disappointed!! We got to see Reggiano Parmigiano cheese being made, Parma Ham AND Culatello in the making, and tasting , Balsamic Vinegar production, and a cooking class overlooking a vineyard! Along with 2 wonderful meals! Davide is a wealth of knowledge on the area and arranged everything for us from the time he picked us up at the train station to the time we were dropped off at a beautiful BnB. I cant say enough wonderful things about this experience!! Absolutely perfect!!

Took a trip to Italy this summer with my boyfriend and our most amazing time was this tour. We toured the Parmesan cheese production site, prosciutto and culatello site! Davide is full of knowledge and was a great tour guide. Our day ended with lunch, the food was amazing! The best pasta I have ever had. During our trip we also visited Rome, Florence and Venice. The tour was a GREAT way to get always from all of the people/ tourist attractions. Don't get me wrong, those parts of Italy were also AMAZING, but Parma just had a different vibe, different pace that I think anyone can appreciate.

We booked a private self-drive tour of four products including lunch. It was fascinating. Our guide was knowledgeable, polite and fluent in English. We toured a Parmigiano Reggiano producer, a balsamic vinegar producer(had to buy some of that to take home), a prosciutto maker and a culatello cellar. We had a late lunch there, tasting all the products we had seen (again) plus several more courses. The restaurant was charming and the food delicious. Although the lunch was included in the price of the tour, my husband and I were left to enjoy it on our own and at our own pace. Using google maps, we had no trouble finding our meeting point or finding our way home at the end of the tour.

Davide perfectly encompassed the highlights of Emilia-Romagna food production and cuisine!
THE TOUR
We toured a Parmigiano Reggiano caseificio and met Giorgio, the owner, who spoke little English, but his smile and enthusiasm for his craft made us feel welcome! The tasting of the cheese was amazing. Being right at the source, cheese has never tasted so good!
We visited a Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena acetaia and learned many interesting facts about their liquid gold! The owner of the acetaia (I forget her name, but she was lovely!) gave us a tasting of their incredible aged vinegars which doesn't compare to most of the mainstream stuff that we buy and consume here in Canada.
We visited both a Parma Ham and Culatello salumeria and learned about the complex processeses that create such a delicious, unique product.
We finished off our tour with a lunch that was coincidentally located in the hometown of the great opera composer, Guiseppe Verdi. Our lunch showcased the local meats, cheeses, and vinegars from the morning, as well as Emilia-Romagna pasta dishes iconic to the area, and a bottle of their fantastic Lambrusco wine!
THE GUIDE
Davide was an excellent guide! He spoke fluent English, and was knowledgeable in the area since he is a local himself! He met us promptly at the time and location given. Due to unforeseen circumstances, his kids had to tag along for the ride (in his car of course, not ours). They did not participate in the tour and very patiently kept to themselves while they waited for us. We greatly appreciated Davide still giving us the best tour possible while taking care of his kids, and we also appreciated the patience of his well-behaved children! :)
We highly recommend this tour as a great way to experience the best of the Emilia-Romagna region! There is a reason they are known for their food, it truly is some of the highly quality food production anywhere in the world!

We had a wonderful time in Parma . Our guide Davide is excellent and we couldn’t choose better . The tour was dynamic, we got just perfect amount of information and we saw exactly what we wanted and tasted great cheese and balsamico . At the end we had a nice testing of Lambrusco sparkling wine with the best of parma ham . And all this in amazing location of Marcelo Restaurant. Thank you very much again Davide . We will come back for sure .

We knew we wanted to experience the food traditions of the Emilia–Romagna region, and our tour with Davide didn’t disappoint! Davide was a fantastic host for our day, providing us with so much of the history and knowledge at each stop on our tour (Parmesan cheese maker, prosciutto, and balsamic). We were blown away with the traditions and the information Davide shared with us, and loved that the tour was tailored to our small group of friends. The stop at the winery for lunch was a nice touch, and Davide was a patient communicator in the months leading up to our tour. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to experience these food traditions hands on! Thank you so much Davide for the wonderful experience!!

Davide was our tour guide for our tour of a parmigiano reggiano cheese farm and warehouse tour that we booked with Parmagolosa. I had done a similar tour in 2004 and saved their business card for this last trip and it did not disappoint! If your Italian vacation plans do not include a good tour in Emilia–Romagna, change them. Davide was a fantastic tour guide, he has grown up working in and around the industry, and his knowledge shows. During the tour we had a visit from Giorgio, he is the 78 year old veteran cheese maker whose perspective and presence was magical. Davide speaks great English and he was kind and easy to work with. Cannot recommend enough. 7 Stars.

Jan 2019 • Family
Parma Golosa Tours and Davide had been recommended by a friend, so we were confident of the quality of the service.
Davide took care of everything for my family (parents and almost 13-year-old twins), our car was delivered to our hotel in the morning, and we drove to the first visit at the Parmigiano Reggiano factory.
From there we visited the Aceto Balsamico and the Prosciutto di Parma productions, and finished with a tasting at a nearby winery.
Amazing tour !!!

Good morning. We will be in Parma, arriving later in the day on September 29th and departing on October 3rd. We are interested in taking a tour of a park cheese factory, a prosciutto ham tour and a basalmic vinegar tour on September 30th.
There will be just the two of us and we do not have a car so would need to be picked up at our hotel...Suites de parma.
What is the cost and what would we be seeing....we don't want to see machines doing the work at the cheese factory, but would prefer to see the artisans at work making this product.
Please get back to us with the price and details.
Thanks
