The square is lovely, but it is the lions that make this special. There are at least 4 pairs on 4 sides -- and maybe another pair up high. They are wonderful -- each pair is different. The big guys on the piazza are fabulous....More
Lovely church with nice old artworks. Restoration goinng on everywhere so there was not much left for us to see. But, when the work is done, I believe it will be fascinating.
Much more interesting than the big cathedrals.
Wonderful stone carvings ... often of dreadful events (being eaten by lions!). The central part of the Duomo is being renovated but you can still appreciate the height and the stonework, in particularly a stone screen of Saints on the side wall.
