This is probably one of the least impressive architectural structures within Urbino but everywhere else it would be a must see. This little town is so full of fantastic architecture and structural beauty that this monument almost seems ordinary.

Standing next to the Duke's Palace and the cathedral, this is a beautiful polished marble obelisk from ancient Egypt, now somewhat incongruously surmounted by an iron cross.

I went there after the visit at the palace and I maybe was expecting something different, but if you walk there go check it out, it doesn't take much

It is the typical obelisk you can find in many towns but it is not as impressive as the one in Paris or the one in Rome.

This is an obelisk, which was originally in Egypt in year 580 B.C. Taken at first to Rom, and than to Urbino in 1737. It is placed in front of the Ducal Palace and CHurch of San Domenico.
