Worth a trip at night time in the summer - the fountains are lit up and the garden is a lot emptier than during the day when full of day-trippers from Rome.

Was last in the gardens of the Villa d’Este 50 years ago and was delighted that they lived up to my memories. The water features make this a garden beyond compare. Definitely a must see whilst in Rome.

Yes ! There are no problems carry a light backpack. You can easily reach these places by public transportation very cheaply.
