A fantastic day from beginning to end on this wine tour. All twelve in our party agreed it was the highlight of an awesome Rome trip.
Guido and Sally were fantastic hosts and looked after us thoroughly.
The winery is in a stunning location with outstanding views. The wine was fantastic (this surprised us, as we knew little about the wine from this area.) We were not rushed and there was ample food to enjoy.
The next stop, their home, likewise had incredible views. Again we were treated to local wine and tasty Italian treats, including Guidos home made cake. 😍
The drive between the two locations opened up an area that we knew little about and will definitely holiday there in the future.
I have been to a couple of wine tours before in Tuscany, both very enjoyable, but this trumped the lot.
If you are thinking about it.... Stop.... Book it now! 🍷

My husband and I did a private tour with Sally and Guido, and we had an excellent time. It was the highlight of our Italy trip. The country side was beautiful, and we enjoyed the drive through it. Sally and Guido were so thoughtful and kind. They welcomed us to their home and provided a wonderful meal and great conversation. If we ever go back to Italy we would definitely do the tour again.

We are so pleased that you and your husband enjoyed your Private Winery and Wine Tasting Tour with us. It was a pleasure making your personal tour into the Rome countryside, even more special for just the 2 of you. We are so pleased you really enjoyed your time with us and that we were able to answer all your questions about our local wines, plus give you more information about Italian culture, food, and what life is like living in Italy. Guido being an 8th generation Italian, born and raised in Rome, has so much information to impart about his own culture and country, making this tour so much more than just about Italian wines. It was a pleasure meeting you both and we hope that you had a safe return journey home. We also look forward to meeting you again whenever you return to Italy. Wishing you both all the best for 2024.

Thank you so much for spending the morning with Guido and learning about our local wines on your Half Day Winery and Wine Tasting Tour. We are so pleased you enjoyed your day out exploring the Rome countryside and that our tour offered you a break from the craziness of the being in the city of Rome. We are so pleased that you enjoyed the second stop of the tour at our family home for a light lunch, more wines, while you enjoyed the fabulous view from our home terrace.
Thank you for your review and we hope to see you return one day to explore more of this area with us.

Our party of 6 enjoyed a lovely day with Guido. It was an easy train ride from Rome and the scenery was beautiful. He took us to a private vineyard for a tour and tasting. Lunch on his patio was fantastic with meats/cheeses/olives/bread and more wine. I highly recommend it.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your Winery and Wine Tasting day with Guido in the Italian countryside and that you found the train journey to get to your meeting point easy and pleasant. We are so close to Rome (about 40 minutes on a direct train ride) and yet it feels like a world away as you get away from the city. The private vineyard has been producing international award winning wines for the quality wines that they produce. Thank you for enjoying Guido's tour from vine to table and all the explanation of the process in between. We are so pleased you and your friends enjoyed the second stop of this 4.5. hour tour, at our family home for a light lunch and more wines.
Thank you for joining us and we hope that you will return again to explore more of this beautiful area with us, very soon. A presto!

We had a great time on this wine tour. Sally and Guido picked us up from the train station and took us to a local vineyard which was solely reserved for us. Guido taught us the wine making process which was very informative and interesting. Then we tasted a few wines and had some great conversation. Afterwards we visited Sally & Guido's home which was very cozy and has an amazing view of the landscape. They had a whole spread of meats and cheeses for us which was nice. It was the perfect day trip to escape Rome and see some of the countryside.

Thank you so much for your review of your Rome Winery and Wine Tasting Experience. We are so pleased you and your friends had as much fun as we did, hosting your half day trip. We have a special long term relationship with the local winery and this means that we can take our small group tours here for the full experience. We take small groups to ensure the whole experience is very personal and everyone has fun learning about our local award winning Italian wines.
We loved the way the conversation flowed over the wine tasting at the winery and then later at our family home over lunch and more wines. We really enjoyed hosting you and we hope you will return to explore this beautiful and totally unknown area (unknown to mass tourism) with us again, soon. Please send our best to the rest of your group, too. Thank you.

My wife and I recently spent our 10th wedding anniversary on this tour and what an absolutely amazing experience. Sally and Guido were exceptional hosts and made us feel so welcome in their home. I would highly recommend this tour as it was small and personable with an incredible amount of knowledge on the wine making process, unrivalled scenery, beautiful food and wine as well as the chance to get the authentic Italian countryside experience.
I wish Sally and Guido every success in the future and have no doubt they will go from strength to strength. Their knowledge, warmth and good humour is fantastic and they really made our day one to remember. Hope to go back again someday.

Thank you for joining us on our Half Day Rome Winery and Wine Tasting Tour. It was a lot of fun for us, too! We had 6 guests on your winery tour and it was wonderful to see that you and our other guests were all out to have a great time, from the very beginning.
Until you told us on our home terrace, we had no idea that you had chosen our Winery Tour to celebrate your 10th wedding anniversary together! What a privilege to be a part of this special celebration. Thank you!
We also felt like we were with a party of friends, by the time we brought you all to our family home in the Rome countryside. Relaxing on our terrace overlooking the view, while offering you a lunch of local produce and 2 more wines to sample at the end of your experience with us. What a Day!
Thank you for very kind words about your experience with us. We hope you had a safe return trip to Ireland and that we will meet you both again in the near future. All the best to you both.

My friends and I had a most memorable day visiting the beautiful wine country with Guido and Sally. The tour at the winery was insightful and educational, not to mention the wine itself was delicious. My friends and I bought three bottles to take home. Guido then drove us to his and Sally's home with a terrace overlooking the picturesque countryside. Here we ate mouthwatering local cheeses, olives and meats, along with more wine. We told stories, laughed, ate, drank and were merry. It was an unforgettable day with Sally and Guido, the very best wine hosts.

My family and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon with Sally and Guido! They are fantastic guides that are very knowledgeable about the surrounding Roman countryside as well as area wines and food. We enjoyed a variety of interesting wines and delicious food at the gorgeous winery and then at the terrace of their home. We all had a fabulous afternoon. We truly appreciated their hospitality and generosity. We could not have asked for more!

So happy we picked this vineyard and wine tasting tour. From the moment we booked, Sally and Guido made every effort to ensure we had a lovely day. We were given easy to follow directions for the train out of Rome into the beautiful Lazio countryside where we were met by Guido and Sally and taken to the vineyard. Our tour was informative and fun, followed by the chance to taste the delicious wines in a stunning setting. We were then whisked away and treated to a delicious Italian lunch on the terrace of their home with amazing views. Guido took extra care to cater for my daughter’s food allergy and their hospitality was wonderful. We would thoroughly recommend this tour, it was wonderful!

It was such a pleasure meeting you and your family and taking you around the Rome countryside, to our local award winning winery and then onto our family home, for a Wine and Wine Tasting tour, last week. It was a great way to celebrate your mother-in-laws birthday and we felt honoured to share this special day with you and your family.
We are very happy that we could offer you the full experience and that you really enjoyed your Tour with us. There is a lot of pre-preparation for all our tours and this includes making sure you received all the information you needed about your program and easy to follow instructions on how to get to your morning meeting point. We are also happy to cater for food allergies and dietary needs whenever we can. We are so pleased you had fun and hope to see you all again one day soon. All the best to you and your family and thanks again for joining us.

Amazing day with Guido and Sally! We only had 2 1/2 days in Rome before a cruise and wanted a small group wine tour experience that didn't take up the entire day. We essentiallly had a private tour with just one other person joining our group of 4 friends! The directions and communication provided were excellent. Sally and Guido picked us up at their local train station outside Rome and drove us to a beautiful winery. The tour was excellent and we enjoyed the wine tasting, fresh bread and getting to know them better. Of course we left the winery with 6 bottles to enjoy during the remainder of our trip! The lunch at their house after the winery tour was our favorite part of the day. Sally and Guido were exceptional hosts and warmly welcomed us into their home. Can't recommend this tour enough and we will definitely book one of their cooking classes the next time we are in Rome. Looking forward to seeing their new house that they just purchased!

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your small group Rome Winery and Wine Tasting Tour that not only took you through the winery on an extensive tour, with wine tasting and a chance to purchase the wonderful local wines, BUT that you also especially enjoyed your 2nd stop at our family home for a light lunch and more wines, while enjoying the amazing view. We had such a warm and sunny day and it was perfect weather to enjoy the Rome countryside. We look forward to meeting you and your friends again when you next come to Rome and we have so much more to show you in our Italian Cooking Classes too. They are also a lot of fun. All the best to you all!

Hi I am studying abroad in Rome this semester and I have family visiting me next week, November 21-28. We would love to do a wine tour at a vineyard and were hoping to do it on Monday the 23rd. I was wondering if you could give me prices, there will be three of us and directions on how i will get to the vineyard, I am staying in the Boccea/Cornelia area.
Thank you so much!

Dear Elizabeth,
Thank you for your interest in our Half Day Rome Wine Tour from Wine Tours Rome.
We have availability and are happy to run this tour for you and your family on Monday 23rd November, 2015. We just need a minimum of 4 people to go ahead. We We can take up to 8 touring guests in our mini bus, so there maybe others joining you on this tour.
The Half Day Rome Wine Tour: After we meet you at our local train station approx. 10.00 am (more details below), you will enjoy the beautiful drive through rolling hills, past olive groves and medieval villages on your way to visit the Santa Lucia winery, where you will learn all about wine making and of course sample the local wines made here while admiring the Roman countryside. We continue this tour by taking you through some more spectacular and unspoiled countryside on our way to a local wine bar, which is situated in the medieval monastic village of Farfa where we discuss and taste other quality local Sabina wines and sample local bread, salami or olive oil bases spreads and cheeses all within the atmosphere of an ancient village. Of course you will get a chance to purchase the local wines on the tour, at both stops, if you wish.
After a wonderful morning sampling Sabina wines in the wonderful setting of the Roman Countryside, we will return you to the local station to catch your train back to Rome at approximately 1.00 to 1.30pm. This unspoilt region really is magical and we would love to show you around.
The cost of this Half Day Rome Wine Tour programme is €79.00 per person. This price also includes a pick up and return service to the local train station (details below).
It is very easy to come here from Rome by train and I will send you easy to follow directions once your place has been confirmed. The train to this region ('Fara Sabina') is direct and departs every 15 minutes from many train stations in Rome (such as Trastevere, Ostiense and Tiburtina, plus others) and usually only takes about 40 minutes. We will meet you at the local train station, 'Fara Sabina' at an allocated time in the morning (usually 10.00am), and drive you through the Sabine Hills to visit the the local winery and then onto to Farfa (the 2 stops on our Rome Wine Tour). We will drop you back at the local train station after your tour so you catch one of the frequent trains back into Rome.
For any other details or question, please contact us directly via our e-mail address, which you will find on our website under 'contact'.
Kind Regards,
Sally Ransom and Guido Santi
