I very much enjoy visiting this church. It is tastefully decorated, whilst elaborate it is not overpowering. There are numerous amazing paintings to admire as well as the elegant architecture.
I generally found the church to be a quiet and peaceful place where one can...More
Well worth seeing. Lovely in the day time. Equally lovely after dark. Be sure to visit the elaborate rococo sacristy off to the left side too.
I have been blessed to visit many of the lovely churches in Rome. This one remains one of my...More
A stones throw from the Pantheon and in a small Piazza dominated by restaurants you could almost miss this church if the green doors ae closed (we hadn't noticed it until the doors were actually open one day !). The almost out of place façade...More
This is located in the Piazza della Maddalena and is just steps away from the Pantheon but far enough away to not be dealing with crowds and overpriced eateries. This is our second visit, this time we were the guides for friends and family who...More
As you are wandering toward the Pantheon, wander on in to Chiesa di SMM..
The elaborate facade certainly is worth a few minutes of your time to study and imagine the craftsman creating all of it by hand..
Once inside, more to sensational work by...More
The curved facade constructed in the Rococo style with its statues, invites the visitor to enter a truly a beautiful church, we don't think we have seen so many statues adorning the walls of a church they are literally everywhere, however that is not all...More
This Church has a curved Rococo (late Baroque) facade shown several times in the photographs (but beware - there are some other places shown incorrectly!). The interior is worth exploring as an excellent example of a small church building full of Counter Reformation art, commissioned...More
Beautiful baroque basilica near the Pantheon.
You’ll be impressed by the beautiful paintings and stuccoed walls and ceilings.
Especially artful are some 3D like paintings that even reflect perfectly the lights through the upper windows.
Another gem among the churches of Rome!
With three of Rome’s most beloved piazzas within a five-minute walk of each other, the Navona/Pantheon/Campo area may be the prettiest and most picturesque area of the city. Join the beautiful throngs hanging out in cafes, boutiques, art galleries, and wine bars, or peek at a neighbourhood museum or monument. If you want nonstop movida, the streets here are busy with chic bicyclists and Vespa
drivers, street vendors, merchants, and locals. There is no rhyme or reason to its winding streets and there's something to see around every corner, so take pleasure in a spontaneous wander.
