The sculpture of Ludovica by Bernini is wonderful. But don't forget to look up to see the skeletons hanging out in the side altar across from Ludavica.

The sculptures are something to behold and admire for a while. I wish I could understand Latin to know more about the history and context of those figures and sculptures.

There is no question for me that this is the most moving sculpture I have seen by any sculptor anywhere. To find the statue by chance in a serendipitous walk through Trastevere was magical. It embodies all that is Bernini, but, religion and faith aside,...More

This is a exquisite basilica (one of three must sees in Trastevere) with a Bernini sculpture. It also happens to be the burial place of the artist Giorgio de Chirico.

This is huge. Seeing all the pictures of St Francis is mind blowing. It is so well laid out and maintained. It was one of my favourite Church's that I visited.

Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded
postcard, a little worn around the edges but still

streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and
overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible
mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of
entertainment - a rotating set of street performers
entertains almost every night, and unforgettable

I think you've got a bit mixed up here . The church I reviewed is in Trastevere in Rome , not in Assisi . Havent been to Assisi but this church in Rome is worth the visit.
