This is a masterpiece that you must see. In Rome in every place you find something to see but in largo S.Susanna there is this little church with a wonderfull thing to see

This statue is in a church that is a bit out of the way. But absolutely worth the effort to get to see it. Even the teenagers were impressed (especially because we had made them watch the movie "Angels and Demons".

Rome has so much to see. If you are near this church it is well worth your while to stop in and see it and of course admire one of Bernini's most famous statues.

Bernini's outstanding scene is really more theatre than anything else: the Angel and Saint Theresa being the main focus, and 17th Century onlookers admiring the scene from their seats. complete with golden(!) rays of sunlight and theatrical light effects!

they have a website with the hours....they are closed every day from 12-3:30....open 8:30 close at 6

The best time to go would be before they close for lunch at 12pm because that way, the sun will be up high in the sky. Being that this is a mixed media baroque art piece, the window that lets in the light isn't quite visible... More
