Whether you walk round or go in this is an awesome building. Only spoilt by all the “ticket touts” hassling tourists.

I know, a bit hypocritical given I was a tourist (from a cruise ship), but the Colosseum was just a sea of tourists, but it was a bucket list tick off experience

Buy tickets online,small fee, but you can jump the queues. Amazing building with plenty of history. Must see at night as well. Beautiful

If you want to go on one of the popular tours then book in advance on the Coop website. The popular tours take you to the underground section and / or the Belvedere but get booked up quickly. My advice would be to have a... More
