The colosseum is amazing to see... from the outside. The hours on end waiting to enter are not worth it. Much better off walking the circumference!

Pay the extra and jump the queue! We had a guided tour of all 5 levels which cost €70, and was more than worth it. The tour lasted about an hour and a half, but once inside you can stay as long as you want....More

Yes to selfie stick. We got there an hour before and qued for about 15 mins to get the actual ticket but we did it through an agent and she took us to the kiosk to get the ticket so it was easy.

Yes, would definitely recommend purchasing from the official website and you do skip the line. We had our vouchers printed but you still do need to leave enough time to exchange for formal tickets at the booth. As per other... More
