This place is incredible - you walk into a small door on the side of a hill and a palace awaits you. Words can’t describe how amazing this place is - how it was discovered and excavated. There is even a virtual reality exhibit that...More

Magnificent work has been done digging out Nero's incredible second palace. Many huge rooms some with mosaics and frescoes in tact are shown during the guided tours. A virtual reality session lets visitors get a feeling for the grandeur that was Rome. The site is...More

Fabulous tour with one of the site's archeologist which includes a virtual reality tour. I would recommend purchasing tickets in advance through the Society for an afternoon tour to escape Rome's summer heat.

For anyone interested in Ancient Rome, this site, which includes an excellent tour by onsite archeologists, is a DO NOT MISS event. The virtual reality portion of the tour is awe inspiring.

We first visited the Domus Aurea in 2000, when it had only recently been opened to the public and it was pretty amazing even then. Since then it has been reclosed and reopened-and WOW! This is a must see, must do experience. You have to...More

I read about this tour on line. It is an underground tour of Nero's house. It is located directly behind the Coliseum The house has just recently been open for tours. Do NOT show up without a ticket. We saw many people turned away while...More
