Nice place with tiny walking streets, and a pathway up to the platform from which you can see the whole Rome from above. Better don't eat in the restaurants on that street though as they are a bit more pricey and rather tourist oriented there....More

Enjoyed making Trastevere our base whilst visiting Rome this trip. There's lots of local colour, great restaurants frequented by the locals and it's close to most sites visitors will want to visit. It's also away from the bustle of other parts of Rome- lovely to...More

Across the Tiber and less touristy than the other side - quintessential quint Roman streets. A little narrower and not as many taller buildings, this is the perfect place for an afternoon stroll and a glass (or bottle) of wine! Great little prosuiterrias and salumerias...More

Beautiful and really different from the rest of the city, lots of great restaurants. Definitely worth the visit, safe during night time plus the walk there besides the river is perfect

For sure here is the best place is Rome where you can eat. There are plenty of good restaurants, "La scala" is one of them....and plenty of things to do and to see all the time.

Rome, a stage city of great cinema scenes, leads us to find a picturesque city where every nook and cranny makes us feel at home. However, we can hardly find such places in a city like Rome, where tourism is king and thousands of tourists...More

Trastevere is a neighborhood a tiny bit north of Vatican City and can easily be reached from the main areas of Rome simply by crossing one of many bridges across the Tiber. It's old Rome--not in the sense of the Empire, but in the sense...More

Trastevere is having a moment - one that's lasted several years now, and the formerly sleepy, mostly residential area is becoming extremely popular, especially with the happy hour set. No golden arches or Kentucky fried chicken yet, but you can see the signs of impending...More

Old neighborhood across the river Tevere (trastevere) where young people meet in the evenings. Interesting small alleys (vicoli).

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded
postcard, a little worn around the edges but still
charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering
streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and
overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible
mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of
entertainment - a rotating set of street performers
entertains almost every night, and unforgettable

Yes Trastevere is a great place to stay, especially the areas close to the river where all the restaurants are. From there you could even walk to the city centre and sights - about 20 - 30 minutes and it's quite flat - or... More

Hello, if you are looking for a big open-air market, please visit Campo de Fiori Market by Giordano Bruno's sculpture. Trastevere mostly shops and restaurants.
