While we were expecting much more about the life and history of Pompei (there is an overwhelming display of marble statutes from the Roman times mostly coming from Rome), the room with the mosaics from Pompei all made up for the disappointment. The mosaics are...More

We enjoyed this museum, sculpture galleries are very fine. Plenty of wall art from Pompeii and other objects. Not to be missed.

We rented the audio guide. It was a waste of money since there were only 19 audio descriptions. As a result we couldn’t make out what most of the museum was about.

This is my absolute favourite Museum. Not only because of the truly astonishing collection of artefacts, mosaics, frescoes and colossal sculptures but because of the light, the breeze ways and the ambiance of the building. The pettiness of the world goes away in this wonderful...More

This museum could be so much better. Artefacts- fantastic, a wide variety and interesting. Presentation - appalling. Nearly all displays are only written in Italian. I have never experienced a national museum before that does not cater for multiple languages. This appears to be to...More

Quite a nice museum with an incredible collection of artifacts from Pompeii and Herculaneum and tons of sculptures. I decided to go with the audioguide and not with the 60€/h guide as I was prepared to stay there for 4h minimum. Some sections are currently...More
