This was a nice diversion for an hour on a rainy day. It tells the story of the history of the craft of inlaid wood furniture and decorative objects in the Sorrento area. The objects are beautiful, but I would have appreciated more information in...More

This small museum in the heart of Sorrento is well worth a visit. We had a bit of a time finding it, but once we did, we loved wandering the three floors and marveling at the exquisite inlaid wood that Sorrento is known for. You...More

This museum holds a beautiful collection of inlaid wood and other antiques. The building it is housed in is a deceptively grand space offering a sense of retreat from the busy Sorrento streets. Helpful man in reception was enthusiastic about the collection and informative.

Located in a gorgeous villa, the museum specializes in industry unique to Sorrento such as the citrus trade and wood etched tables and hand crafted furniture. The cost was 8.00 but it was justified because it was 4 floors filled with treasures.

This museum tells the story of woodworking in Sorrento especially the intricate inlay work the area is renowned for. Some of the pieces such as the beds took my breath away, well worth a visit/

Very interesting and informative museum dedicated to the art of wood inlay. This is a dying art. Amazing levels of workmanship displayed from the past 5 centuries. The building it is housed in is worth a visit in itself.

The gentleman who established this museum has done a truly amazing job of collecting artifacts for his exhibits which take up several floors of the building. It is well worth a visit here if you are in Sorrento.
