I spent several afternoons just walking around and people watching. It is very nice to sit and see the locals in their daily activities.

During our four day visit we walked every street of this lovely old town and never tired of the finding something new that caught our eye. Changes feel depending on the time of day but as Salerno is not heaving with tourists, it was always...More

It's a nice area to go for dinner and walk through it's small streets and shops. The Duomo there is worth visiting and some of the pizzerias are great !

Very different experience of Italy than what one gets in the larger cities. Lots of small shops, restaurants, and coffee shops, along the narrow stone paved streets, lined with historic buildings.

See many old towns and this is not even close the top. Quite boring and not very clean. Too many walls full of tags. And church was not impressive.

The historical centre of Salerno is incredible. It is quintessentially Italian - think of the stereotype and you will feel like you are walking through an Italian storybook. Absolutely incredible.

As we didn't actually stay in Salerno itself I can't really recommend where to stay. There is a bus and train station in the centre next to each other. Also from the port you can get the ferry to the Amalfi coast and visit... More
