Highly recommended. A great place to explore with incredible history, architecture. Sassi and it’s three districts are each distinct with their own character and no surprise it is an UNESCO world heritage site and will be the 2019 city of culture. Older even than Damascus!

If you are anywhere near Matera than you have to visit the Sassi Di Matera. One of the most unique historical places in the world, in which the same ancestral inhabitants occupied the same cave houses for 9000 years. An incredible history with beautiful architecture....More

Take a guided tour to get the most out of this amazing place. Make sure to wear good shoes as the steets are very uneven.

Wow....that is tight. You'll need to he lucky to get that bus. Hopefully your flight will be on time... Hopefully the bus is close to the exit of the airport. Bari airport is really small...so that's in your favour.....
