Museum of Contemporary Art Conde Duque is set in the formidable ex-barracks of the Palace guard. Plans to demolish the splendid building were canceled and it has become an excellent venue for exhibitions especially of contemporary art. A library is in the right corner as...More

This museum is located within 10 minute walking distance from the Plaza de Espana subway station. The building was a refurbished army barracks turned into a mixed use complex that included a contemporary art museum, exhibition halls, library and cultural centre. There's no entry fee...More

Until the 15th of October "El Viaje y el Escritor" will be on display on the top floor of the museum. If you like literature and you enjoy interesting art (not "contemporary" in the sense of geometric paintings or splashes of paint), then you might...More

I love this museum and have visited multiple times. The exhibits are thought provoking and you can get through the entire museum in a couple hours. It's free, and hosts a myriad of interesting events. Plus it's in a really cool neighborhood!

The Conde Duque is a bit out of the way but is an interesting historic building which houses excellent temporary exhibitions. The photographic exhibition called At the Gates of Paradise about migrants which is on now was extremely thought provoking.

Huge interesting building...not a lot of art work on the day we visited to justify the brilliant space. Not very customer interactive either...left totally alone to decipher the whereabouts of anything in this massive area, but I'm sure if there was an event going on...More

The building is worth a visit itself: it's amazing how respectfully the ancient military architecture is transformed to a cultural centre without forgetting the needs of this age. The museum of contemporary art offers a free exhibit with an interesting selection of Spanish artists and...More
