We booked private tours in Madrid and Lisbon with Top Day Tours Group. They were excellent. The drivers arrived early, were very well presented, spoke very good English, and were very knowledgeable. They asked us where we may want to go, and advised us of how to avoid the tour groups. And the vehicles were all spotlessly clean and in good condition. We left Lisbon on a cruise and instead of using the ship's tours we booked further tours with Top Day Tours. In Cadiz we went to Saville, in Barcelona we went to Montserrat. An example of the driver's consideration for us was that he asked a security person permission to drive us right up to the Basilica ( my husband uses a walking stick), told us to go straight to the Black Madonna before the crowds, then drove back down, parked the vehicle, then walked back up the hill to us. We also had private tours in Naples, Alicante and Malinga. I cannot recommend this company more highly. Lyn, Sydney, Australia.

We booked the Madrid City tour as a pickup from the airport and a comfortable way to acclimate to Madrid and kill time between our morning arrival and our afternoon apartment check-in. We had a fabulous tour viewing and hearing about the major highlights of Madrid with Poncho. He was waiting for us as promised outside of baggage claim, and ushered us to a comfortable air-conditioned minivan, and we were off. Poncho was extremely knowledgeable and shared the rich history of so many landmarks in the city. We stopped for additional detail and pictures at several locations, and he even took us into the Atocha train station to point out where we would arrive when taking the metro to the station, and where to go for our train to Barcelona later in the week. Very friendly, helpful, and informative, and the perfect way to start our Madrid experience. Thanks Poncho!

We stopped in Malaga, for our first time, while on a cruise ship traveling to Barcelona. We signed up for an excursion with Top Day to see the local areas of interest, and take a trip to Granada. Wow - we had a great and comprehensive tour! We learned about the Muslim influenced culture of the past, influences of the Roman occupation until 400AD, and then visited the incredible Alhambra Palaces, home of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella, who met here with Christopher Columbus when he pitched a funding request to travel the oceans west (leading to his discovery of America). Fascinating history, architecture and gardens. A "must see" visit! The tour and our guide Debbie were very good and I would recommend it!

I decided to do the half-day tour to Toledo from Madrid at the advise of our hotel concierge - I was looking for touring a old city with historical architecture etc but wasn't sure if i wanted to do Avilla and Segovia since it was a full day and reviews said you spend to much time on the bus. She suggested doing the half-day tour with Vamos. Toledo is awesome and I regretted that I hadn't planned either a full-day or an overnight - the town is built around a city wall or river and has little alleys with cobblestones. It has 3 different quarters (Jewish, Christian and Muslim) - unfortunately, with the half-day tour, I felt that we were pretty rushed - we couldn't really explore at our own leisure. We also didn't get to go inside the cathedral or see the muslim quarters etc. While the guide was good, I felt she lacked the flexibility tourists sometimes needed. In addition, they added a 15-20 minute stop at the beginning near the town and a 20+ minute stop at the end which was not needed - was merely for tourist souvenirs etc. I would rather have spent that time walking in Toledo. I would advise folks to take the transport only option for 25 Euros and explore on your own - there are good one-day guides that you can buy and I think you will benefit a lot more than paying 55 Euros for half-day which really only gave you about 2 rushed hours in Toledo.

This is the third excursion we went with Top Day Tours and it has maintained the same high quality of service. We were greeted punctually as we left our cruise ship by a very well mannered guide and shown to our bus. Although there were only 18 of us, we were provided with a large bus, very new and very clean. Along the way to Granada to visit the Alhambra Palace, the guide kept us well informed of every significant building, point of interest. He was very well prepared and knowledgeable. The journey took about two hours but we were not bored in any way. At the Alhambra Palace, we were turned over to a local guide, who was just as knowledgeable in showing us this most beautiful Morrish landmark. We consider this visit to be well worth of what we paid, being a fraction of what the cruise ship asked for. A final note though is that the Alhambra management appears to be very sluggish in providing admission tickets and so it took considerable time before our excursion could be confirmed.
