In a off the beaten quarter of Madrid the museum resides in a grand building with beautiful stain glass windows. The collection is grand. So many stones and minerals are on display in the most beautiful way. Too bad they have no English explanations

Me, my wife, and our three kids (6, 10, 13) visited last Saturday. We liked it. First, it was free for us (not sure if it is for everyone). Lots of stuff in Spanish, so if you don't know Spanish you'll be limited to come...More

My husband and I visited this museum because we both love fossils and minerals. This museum has a few dinosaur related displays, but its strength is in fossils from older eras: lots of trilobites, crinoids, brachiopods, carboniferous plants, etc. Plus as other reviews say, the...More

This museum is not one of the most famous ones in Madrid but if you want to spend a great morning among fossils, minerals and a great deal of knowledge I would aim to this one. The amount of material laid out in 4 floors,...More

If you are interested in geology and minerals then this is a must. Very nice collections in a beautiful building, worth seeing itself. Easy access by metro, situated close to station Rios Rosas. And free of charge!

Huge and well described exhibits (Spanish) Fossils, Minerals, Gems, all in large walk around display cases, is really interesting, great for kids and building itself a knockout.
