An impressive vinery absolutely stuffed with pristine barrels and equally impressive vats, some concrete (with liners) and some more conventional with a n excellent guide with a good command of English. We tasted two wines, one a Reserva 2014 and super Gran Reserva 2011. So we bought six of the later at €20.80 each or about £18.91, a good price for a top quality wine.…

We have been coming to Ramon Bilbao for years and we love their wines. The tasting experience (and purchasing) is vastly improved now all the building works are completed. Delicious wines that improve in the glass are a treat for Rioja wine-lovers.

Maria del Pilar, our hostess and guide for the visit was fantastic. She explained very well not only the technical part of the production but also the story behind the founder, an amazing one. I've done a lot of winery tours in various countries and this one stood out with their genuine dedication to educating the visitor about their winery (and wine production in general) and a maximum attention to detail. Our tour had about 15 people in it, the guide was extremely well informed, and the winery was very generous when it came to wine tasting: a total of 5 different reds were offered with a detailed explanation about each one of them. If you happen to be in the Rioja region, stop by Ramón Bilbao. I doubt you'll regret it.…
