In my opinion little to see in this industrial city. Full of heavy traffic and few monuments or special things that lead you on purpose to make a visit here.

This one is a little out of the town centre and will need some walking to get to if you're staying down that way. It's a massive statue and one we spotted only on the way back to the airport.

A huge statue in the middle of a busy city street is a great location to celebrate the history if Vigo. Fish, fish and more fish, that's the history of this area. Well done.

Sitting at the foot of Gran Via, this monument exudes the raw power of man. Powerful, naked monsters hauling a fishing net - really unusual but fitting for Vigo, whose development was born of the sea. Vigo obviously bred some rather muscled and chiseled blokes!

Have seen many monuments to fishermen all over the planet and this one doesn't disappoint ! Is a good recreation of the olden days of manpower to bring the catch on board ! Looks Great in Vigo.

Now for something completely different! Probably the most unusual monument you could ever see. Giant fishermen all heaving at one end of a tug of war with a fishing net? Certainly stops you in your tracks. Why? Because V I G O = F I...More

Came across this statue because it was right outside my hotel, it is mildly interesting but would have thought it would have been better located near port rather than in the town centre at the foot of the Gran Via? Something to take in if...More

Worth a look if you are in the area but not one to go out of your way for. Incorporate into one of the walking guides.

Vigo was first and foremost a fishing town. For that reason a monument to its fishing heritage seems only fitting. However I doubt that the fishermen of the past were ever that large and muscular.
