This place is an absolute beauty spot. There are a lot of steps to climb but the views from the top are stunning and worth the climb up. As you ascend the hill there are small garden areas, ponds and water features and seating areas...More

We were thankful for escalators for the lower part of the climb and then climbed to the top of the Fortress for fantastic views of the coast. We could see a long way in either direction which was very satisfying. Many families were out on...More

I honestly didn’t go to the place as a tourist. Instead, I went jogging each morning I was in Vigo, before the sunrise (except for the last day). Thus, I did not enjoy the views fully, but understood that the place was pleasant. Walking up...More

We were in Vigo as part of hiking the Camino. The view from the fortress is significant, however Vigo is not the most beautiful city even from above, unless you find beauty in industrial shipping and large industrial buildings. It is one city that I...More

Very worth visiting for wonderful views over the whole city and also it's pure beauty. A nice quiet spot despite being in the very centre, it is a lovely place for a walk, and the view is great to get a feel for the layout...More

Don’t have too high expectations and you will not be disappointed. It is worth the climb up. We are both over 65 and managed ok but it is exhausting. The top is quite large and pretty flat with many paths in different directions. There are...More

Despite the fact that there are undoubtedly fabulous views out over the water from the highest and other vantage points en route the castle itself is a little tired and disappointing. The climb to the top is not for the faint hearted but the edifice...More

We took this as part of a cruise ship excursion so we were dropped off near the top. There is still some walking with a bit of an incline but it is manageable. The view from the top is great. The fortress is very well...More

Took taxi up. Inside the fort there's lots of walking and steps but great views and interesting gardens. No signage we saw so you're pretty much on your own. Long walk down from the castle.
