Interesting sculpture, located in the city center of Ceuta. It represents the creation of the Strait of Gibraltar, according to Greek mythology

The statue itself is mildly interesting but the story behind more so. Google it. Oddly the penis has been covered with random blob of clay. The statue is worth a look and don't touristy photos. Just avoid the restaurant downstairs.

This work is right in the centre of the town and well worth a photo stop. The back drop of the work is irresistible for a memory image when on a trip to Ceuta.

What an impressive work of art. A definite photo op from many angles. This statue is not that old, erected around 2006 but it is a gargantuan work of art that was built to mark the land of Africa where Hercules marked his pillars separating...More

A must take photo opportunity showing Hercules pushing apart the pillars. Great statue on the water front.

Estatua built to mark the beginning of The land of Africa, where Hercules marked his pillars, according to the Greek-mythology. This place is very close from Ceuta s downtown, shopping stores, infront of the Marina and only one min to the parque maritimo.

Wonderful highlight of a mythic tale. I allows for photos from several angles. Backlit at night, and very handy to the pedestrian walkways.

This is a portrayal of one of the Labors of Hercules that is pertinent to the Gibraltar area, so if you want the full impact, do a little research.

A short 20-minute stroll from the cruise port...this statue and area present great photo-ops. We were on the HA Oosterdam and would recommend the visit to this area and the old fort. There are no fees to visit.
