My disabled wife and I visited here and loved the place. It is largley accessible for wheelchairs. and has a superb tram system serving the city. If driving, park at the Comedie car park - perfect for the old town which is pedestrianised and right by the tourist information (who speak good English and are very helpful). The lift come up into the main square. You probably need a day to see the historic part of the city. We were disappointed by the local coast, but Lleida is a good base for exploring the area. Consider a trip to Carcasonne or Avignon.…

We spent the night here on our way from Pamplona to Tarragona, and I have to say it was a disappointment, we should have just driven to our destination and spent some extra time in Tarragona. There is basically only one thing to see in Lleida - the Cathedral, which is nice, but nothing all that special. The city itself is quite run down and unattractive as compared to the other places we visited in Catalonia and Basque Country. There weren't any decent dining options in the old town (only many kebab shops), and all in all it didn't seem like a place you'd much like to hang around after dark anyway.…
