We did a drive past and a walk past. On TA its described as the Smiling Shrimp; our tour guide called it a lobster. It could be a hybrid of either species. Quirky sculpture and great for photos if you have children accompanying.

If you are strolling along the Barcelona waterfront, you can see this sculpture. Take a photo and that's it

Seems to be a debate as to whether this is a lobster or a shrimp. There is a local crustacean they call a “gambon” which looks a bit like a shrimp but with a tougher shell and pincers like you’d find on a crawfish. Regardless,...More

It's a lobster NOT a shrimp! I passed by it on my walk along Rambla de Mar. It made me laugh because it had such a big smile to which I thought...you're smiling now but when you get tossed in a pot of boiling water...it...More

This sculpture isn't the best design in the world, but it made us all smile as we walked along the port. Great to visit if you're in the area but don't go out of your way.

This smiling shrimp isn't designed well, it looks like a larger version of a kid's plasticine or playdo sculpture but it isn't supposed to be serious so enjoy it for what it is. It's a nice welcome to the port area, it's cute and makes...More

Right on way from Via Laietana to the beach you can find this huge shrimp/lobster. It looks like he has fun and is always surrounded by People taking Selfies with him.

I thought it was a lobster, bit I am no crustaceans specialist. If you happen to see it, look up. Not a main focus in Barcelona.

A Shrimp Huh? Well, I thought it was fun when I thought it was a lobster, but its not a very good shrimp.

They call this the smiling shrimp, but I think like a lot of others it is more like a lobster. Very interesting statue/artwork like there is much of in Barcelona. We saw it on one of our walks.
