This store does have a very big selection but mainly tourist/souvenir items, rather than quality regional ceramics, which was a bit disappointing.

This was a really great find in Barcelona. We have a Spanish style home and needed numbers for the front of the house. This is the place! The woman who helped us was really beautiful, super friendly, and very hard-working. It was late in the day and I'm sure she was exhausted from all of the tourists coming and going, but she still had a smile on her face. This place has lots of great pottery and items to take home with you and wonderful prices. Go check them out! A+

Bought so many things from here! Amazing range. A few different locations around Barcelona. Reccomend the main location (largest shop, biggest range on show)

Very convenient, especially if you do jot want to waste too much time ‘shopping’. Huge, diverse selection of pottery, ceramics... some typical ‘tourist’ items but, if you have time to check, some lovely more unique pieces (which are usually pricey which is perhaps understandable!).

I was surprised to see how many choices were available, particularly the representation of many locations throughout Spain. It seems that hand thrown and hand decorated pottery are becoming more rare, and it was great to see so many still producing these types of pieces.

My wife and I ate at the restaurant across the street- we would never have known about this store if we hadn't been... After seeing the amazing quality ( and QUANTITY) of merchandise, I noticed that they ship directly to your home! I hadn't seen many stores yet that would do that...
First off- expensive? Somewhat. For the quality of the ceramics... totally worth it!! To be honest, the shipping cost I thought was a little high, BUT- They were delivered via FedEx within a week! They took incredible care in packing each item in LAYERS of bubble wrap. The gentleman who assisted us ( I assume the owner) said several times that if anything was damaged, he would replace for free WITH free shipping. He estimated that it would take between 2 and 3 weeks to be delivered- Like I said before- LESS than a week!! AND everything was perfect! They also have a website that I will be shopping from in the future.
Don't waste your time scouring out great deals elsewhere- for your time AND money- this is the best!!

ART Escudellers offers a wide variety of Spanish hand made ceramics. The ceramics are mostly hand painted and glazed. Their styles vary according to the Spanish region in which it was produced. There are a few ART Escudellers in Barcelona, but the largest one is the one in Escudellers 23. I have purchased a few decorative plates from here over the years and would highly recommend it.

As a regular visitor to Spain, I'm horrified to see the cost of ceramics in here now. This store used to be affordable but not any longer.

After traipsing through a few of the usual plastic "Made in China" souvenir shops, we stumbled upon the largest location (there are a couple of satellite locations - Escudellers, 23 is the Mothership) of ART Escudellers.

Here, everything is made in Spain - there are signs telling you in which region every piece was made. There is a great selection of pottery and ceramic ware to choose from, and they will ship overseas.

Since everything is hand made, and can be fragile, it pays to look over every piece to be sure there are no chips or flaws that you can't live with.

This is not a bargain outlet but the pieces are real, made in Spain (not China although some of the lesser pieces are questionable). The best pieces are expensive but if you spend some time you can find some pretty great pieces at reasonable prices. The staff is very knowledgeable and quite helpful. Went to main store and two satellite smaller stores. The main store at 23 Escudellers is worth waiting for. Lots more merchandise.purchased tiles which when placed together show a picture of, in this case, two bakers. Beautiful. Found a couple nice plates too, one of which was rung up incorrectly on price but they honored the marked on plate price. The store apparently does not offer the forms for tax rebate at the airport and the tax here is very high - 20%. There are numerous kitchen pieces of similar function but of many different colors, styles and regions. Great place for gifts. One other note - the ceramics here are not bargains in price and indeed, much is quite expensive, but it is all art and for what one gets (especially with a little looking) it is well worth it. Great memories of Barcelona and Spain contained within ceramics.
