Umbrella store owner Bruno Quadros had his business on the ground floor of this 1858 building; he used the umbrella decor outside to advertise his wares. In 1883 the building had its first refurbishment as Barcelona was getting dressed-up for the 1888 Exposition. The architect...More

Cool building to see if you happen to be strolling La Rambla but not super high on the list compared to all the other sights to see throughout the city.

Others have given more detailed reviews -- I just wanted to say that I was delighted when this building caught me unawares. I had not researched the area and it was one of many fun sights along La Rambla.

Strolling down La Rambla we easily spotted this building for the quirky use of umbrellas all over it and the dragon bursting out from the corner of it. The umbrellas are a tribute to the buildings former use as an umbrella factory.

Barcelona's most famous street was once a dry
