The atmosphere is amazing! It really seems to be in the 19th century, in a very typical decadent and smoky pub. According to the history, this is the pub in which Hemingway, Dali and Picasso were used to drink absinthe. Highly recommended!

From outside is not attractive but when you go inside this bar you can appreciate the ancient forniture, tyles, old dusty bottles. And it is a must to enjoy the assenzio, the essence that you have to drink in a ritual way with the help...More

They only have one type of absinthe on offer, and it's a poor one at that. They have them pre-filled in glasses behind the bar. They may as well serve them out of a vending machine. I realise this place is an institution but they...More

This place is so cool! It's original and the cocktails are prepared quickly and to perfection! This place is all about presentation with style. Don't miss this on your travels in Barcelona for a beverage early or very late.....😉

nice, authentic and clearly very old and unchanged in years bar. The absinthe is amazing, its old time gritty slighty dirty charm is great. A might visit for an after dinner absinthe or as a warm up to a night out.

The bar still retains its original character, with the peeling paintwork and authentic dust, however, little is else is done to enforce this image by its current owners. Whilst they were both polite and helpful, I would have liked to have seen a bit more...More

Go here. It is a must. The place clearly hasnt changed its interior since it was built, dusty bottles on the wall, old lights, paint peeling off the ceiling, hot and old furniture. But don't let that put you off. Order an absinthe and a...More

this was once a bar in the heart of the community of the barrio chino, the locals would use this place as a social hub you could find out all sorts of local news. Sadly this is no longer the case the new proprietor opens...More

This bar is a legend. It embodies Barcelona's raw side; absinth, in bar in shady Raval. While most tourist end up in the uber-commercial, hipper than hip, bars at the beach, this notorious place is still the real deal. You cannot speak about bars in...More

Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this
gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an
excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic

authenticity protrudes from the many independent
record stores, second hand shops, and student bars
that seem to light up the streets day and night. The
rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day
