Overview
More
The Basilica of the Sagrada Familia is a monumental church devoted to the Holy Family: Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Construction began in 1882, based on plans drawn up by the architect Francisco de Paula del Villar, and Antoni Gaudi was commissioned to continue the project in 1883. The Temple has always been an expiatory church, built only from donations. As Gaudi said: "The Expiatory Church of the Sagrada Familia is made by the people and is mirrored in them. It is a work that is in the hands of God and the will of the people." In 2010, Pope Benedict XVI consecrated the site as a minor basilica.

A project of hundreds of years of construction but it's just amazing what is growing in the middle of Barcelona. You definitely should visit when in the city. Can't wait to see it when it's ended

We booked our tour straight through La Sagrada familia’s website. It was really easy and we were given multiple choices of dates, times and tour times. We chose to have a guided tour in English. This allowed us to print the tickets and skip the...More

Nothing to say if not that it's a masterpiece. I like it very much. In my opinion the base ticket (without the towers) is enough to enjoy the sagrada familia.

Wow, what a powerful experience. I had previously presumed Sagrada Familia was simply the quirky work of an eccentric architect. My ignorance. The English guided tour and our entire visit opened my eyes to the genius, dedication and creativity of Mr Gaudi. A remarkable feat...More
