    The Basilica of the Sagrada Familia is a monumental church devoted to the Holy Family: Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Construction began in 1882, based on plans drawn up by the architect Francisco de Paula del Villar, and Antoni Gaudi was commissioned to continue the project in 1883. The Temple has always been an expiatory church, built only from donations. As Gaudi said: "The Expiatory Church of the Sagrada Familia is made by the people and is mirrored in them. It is a work that is in the hands of God and the will of the people." In 2010, Pope Benedict XVI consecrated the site as a minor basilica.

    Wow again a must see when in Barcelona. I couldn't believe how wonderful this thing is . I won't spoil the surprise and tell you much more just GO

    Can't wait to see it when it's ended

    A project of hundreds of years of construction but it's just amazing what is growing in the middle of Barcelona. You definitely should visit when in the city. Can't wait to see it when it's ended

    Beautiful

    Nothing to say if not that it's a masterpiece. I like it very much. In my opinion the base ticket (without the towers) is enough to enjoy the sagrada familia.

    It's around 9a.m. but depending on the availability tickets. Better if you check on the website. The most important is to buy tickets with enough advancement.

    Tickets are time sensitive. I would recommend purchasing your ticket on line for an entry date and time that will allow you to arrive from the port comfortably. There is a 15 min window for each time slot. The metro is how... More

    I think that is to go up the tower. although it is perfectly safe. honestly a waste of time . no restrictions on visiting the basilica .
