Overview
More
The Basilica of the Sagrada Familia is a monumental church devoted to the Holy Family: Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Construction began in 1882, based on plans drawn up by the architect Francisco de Paula del Villar, and Antoni Gaudi was commissioned to continue the project in 1883. The Temple has always been an expiatory church, built only from donations. As Gaudi said: "The Expiatory Church of the Sagrada Familia is made by the people and is mirrored in them. It is a work that is in the hands of God and the will of the people." In 2010, Pope Benedict XVI consecrated the site as a minor basilica.

My time in Barcelona was limited so I visited the best of Gaudi’s architectural wonders. The Sagrada Familia Basillica did not disappoint. The tower tour was a bit squishy and not sure I’d do that again but the taped tour is informative and well explained....More

You really should take the tour and hear the history of the building. They say the outside is the most beautiful, but I thought the inside was amazing.

Gaudi's masterpiece. Be sure to take a tour so you can learn about the figures on the outside of the cathedral and how Gaudi designed the inside with the stained glass windows.

We walked from the port area of Barcelona up to this architectural marvel. It took 45 minutes but was well and truly worth it. Spectacular building inside and out.

We spent a great afternoon. Booked a tower visit with the audio guide. It’s simply amazing. The entrance fee goes to the restoration so it’s worth it.

On every trip to Barcelona we visit the Sagrada Familia to see what additions have been made. I have to say that this is a building that really no words can describe. When you arrive at the structure you are immediately taken aback by the...More

Amazing experience. Everything Gaudí made is phenomenal, they're worth visiting, but this was the most exciting out of all.

Maybe it could be tight for him. I think there's too much to see there so my recommendation is to skip the tower. Hope it helps

We bought ours a month in advance. When we checked earlier (like 2 and a half months earlier), the dates we were interested in were not posted yet. We didn't have a hard time selecting a time that's convenient for us, but... More
