A good example of a historic and very old religious site, the building also houses university offices and is a workplace. so it may not be the best place to bring young children who are not in a good mood!

Loved the beauty of the old monastery building. Resturaunt prices a touch high, but that is normal for this part of Spain. Great position, not too far from the motorway, and close to the picturesque river.

It's free and conveniently close to the Cathedral, so well worth a 5 minute detour. You can visit it fairly quickly. The Sala Triste has portraits of the solemn-looking deans. The chapel was built by Gregorio Fernández and it's really nice.
