This was a real eye opener. A few euro to enter but worth the visit if you like history and the information on South America was interesting.

One cannot miss this convent, with a very elaborate portal as entrance to the church. Once inside there is a stunning claustro and courtyard. One of the rooms in the claustro is where Christopher Colombus came to ask for support for his voyage. It is...More

Amazing monastery with beautiful rooms and a little museum containing a Rubens Madonna and Child (on loan, I think). I loved seeing the church from up in the choir. The alter was incredible. Well worth a visit. Like most things, it closes for a section...More

Really enjoyed the monastery as I love architecture and this is a great example. The king's cloisters really are fabulous and because we had great weather took some great photos.

As most of the Salamanca constructions, this is also beautiful. With the ticket you can see the claustro, the church, a museum... All very nice

A lovely quiet space with fabulous architecture, a very ornate church and an interesting museum. Loads of storks nesting on the rooftops when we visited.

It was so old and both inside and outside had amazing architecture! There were interesting quotes painted on the walls that made the history come together.

Our guidebook referred to the artistry of St. Stephen’s Convent as “delicate as spun sugar” which is not a phrase I’d ever seen used to describe anything. This church was closed when we passed the first time, but we were glad we returned. The work...More
