We went on this tour on our last night before we departed back to London. It was amazing! The route was great as we saw Teide National Park one last time before we leave (the evening Teide is totally breathtaking). Jack was making jokes whole...More
We went on a wet and rainy day, couldn't see anything on way up - but once up in national park, it was glorious sunshine. Views were amazing! Our guide Pepe was very funny, but also very detailed, especially his star knowledge. We tried the...More
We absolutely loved this tour! Our guide Fernando gave us lots of interesting information about the local area and there were a couple of stops in the park. The cava was a great touch with the sunset and the food was lovely - we’re both...More
Absolutely amazing scenery, views and then the spectacular sunset. The meal was good. Then onto the stars. There was some cloud but Julian was brilliant at explaining the mythology behind the constellations. Altogether a worthwhile trip.
We were picked up from Hotel in 9 seater minibus, picked up another 6 on the way, and made our way up to Teide national park for Sunset and picnic. There were 3 minibus so about 20-23 people in all with 3 guides and 2...More
Quite splendid. Better than either my wife or I imagined it would be, although, most sadly, we did not see any more stars in the sky than we would have done had we remained in our English home. This was no fault of the tour....More
Our team were Julen and Marcos and they made our trip so enjoyable. Julen's energy, enthusiasm and extensive knowledge was a joy to behold. It wasn't a job for him, more a pleasure. Marcos negotiated all of the twists and turns on the journey with...More
We booked through Thomas Cook whilst staying on one of their package holidays. The tour ran from 3pm until 11pm with Leon (driver) & Fernando (guide). The tour was half based on Mt Teide / volcanic island of Tenerife and half on the great views...More
Jack was an excellent guide and Leon's driving around all those bendy roads was first class. Interesting and funny commentary, lovely company meeting people at the meal from Switzerland, Finland and Estonia. Jack's knowledge of the stars was inspiring. This has to be the best...More
Julian and Marco make an excellent team!
You get your moneys worth on this nearly 11 hour trip. The sky was clear and the final explanation of the constellations late in the evening, wrapped in blankets supplied, was very informative. There were no questions asked...More

Didn't feel too long as lots of different stages to the trip - the drive up with wonderful scenery and interesting commentary about the Island from the guide. Stop at a cafe for a drink / loo / souvenirs. Then on to two separate and quite different scenic spots to take photographs.
On to a separate location to witness the spectacular sunset and drink a glass of bubbly. Then back on the coach to go to the restaurant for dinner - three courses. Then back on the coach to stop and view the stars.
We were collected at 2pm and got back around 10.30pm/11pm.
You cannot take enough warm clothes - fleeces, jackets, gloves, scarf and hat! They do have blankets on the coach.

Yes - definitely suitable for those ages - my kids are 12 and 14 and they said it was the highlight of their holiday (along with Siam Park!) - don’t know about temperatures in December but I would take warm coat - it was chilly in July when the sun went down. Blankets are provided by the coach driver. Hope you haves great time!
